Develop appropriate responses to assessed information needs within diverse communities/organizations.
In LIS 702 we were tasked with reviewing two databases and evaluating them for their content, usability, access, and other important factors. From there, we selected a variation of materials for a specific assessed scenario of needs. The options were Public Libraries, Academic Libraries, or School Libraries. Each prompt assessed needs within the community, and we were tasked with building a collection around those needs. I chose a public library scenario, as I work in public libraries and I wanted to make it applicable to my career. This assignment helped cement a tenet of librarianship, which is to serve the needs of every individual in your community. In this case, it was appropriate to create a new collection to help provide for an under served area.
