Goal 4: Synthesize theory and practice within a dynamic, evolving, and diverse information environment.
One can theorize presenting a workshop to coworkers, but it takes the reality of such an event and its dynamic and often diverse environment to truly learn how it is done. In LIS 725 we were put into groups and tasked with creating a workshop for hypothetical coworkers (our classmates) about a topic. Ours was digital citizenship, a topic that I became very familiar with throughout my education. Through this assignment we were able to experience the true practice of this common professional courtesy, and the dynamic and evolving social interaction that it ultimately is. It was a great way to synthesize theories and best practices learned in school with true application. Please see below the detailed outline of our presentation.
